The Well Logging Analysis and Evaluation Training Programme provided by the Imperial Corporate Training Institute had a clear intent to provide the petroleum industry with skilled individuals who can interpret the logs of wells and assess the characteristics of strata beneath the earth’s surface, and then assess these logs to aid in extracting hydrocarbons.
This training programme would provide a mixture of theoretic and practicum training relating to petrophysics, wireline logging, and analysis of reservoirs so that delegates can successfully interpret and assess well logs and the strata’s lithology and porosity from the collected well log data. This will be accomplished through direct experiential training using both theoretical and practicum applications (ie: case study examples from the field and direct hands-on practice on the actual logs), encouraging a robust link between well log data and geological and engineer data; allowing delegates to use their newfound skills in real-world settings when making field operational decisions.
The participants will also learn about the principles underlying all well log measurements, as well as how to correlate various log types and apply different formation evaluation techniques. Therefore, using advanced analyses of petrophysical information combined with practical logging techniques; this training programme will prepare professionals to improve the characterization of the reservoir, identify hydrocarbon zones, and, in turn, increase the productivity of any given field.
