Imperial Corporate Training Institute offers the Reservoir Simulation Techniques and Production Modelling Training Course, an advanced oil and gas training course that is intended to build strong technical competence in the latest developments in reservoir engineering. The focus of this training course is to establish an accurate numerical reservoir model that can simulate the actual behaviour of the subsurface and, thereby, provide a means by which oil and gas industry Professionals can accurately predict production performance, optimally develop field development plans, and estimate uncertainty during the course of an asset’s lifecycle. By following a structured learning environment, participants become familiar with how geological data, petrophysical properties and fluid characteristics are combined to create dynamic simulation models that provide necessary support for sound engineering judgment.

This course emphasises the importance of modelling reservoirs, developing advanced simulation workflows, and creating realistic production forecasts. Participants review a wide variety of concepts that relate to flow dynamics through porous media, multiphase flow behaviour, and pressure- volume-temperature (PVT) relationships. In addition, the training provides comprehensive exposure to both conventional and advanced recovery techniques, including enhanced oil recovery (EOR) screening, modelling, and the performance evaluation of EOR methods. Upon completion of the programme, participants will possess the analytical skills required to construct, calibrate, and interpret reservoir simulation models to enable sustainable production and improve recovery efficiencies.
