The Imperial Corporate Training Institute offers Measuring and Reporting Carbon Footprint Training Course assists organisations that work in heavy carbon and intensive energy industries by offering structured, defendable and auditable means to measure and report their carbon footprint. The increasing need for companies operating in the public utilities industry to measure their carbon footprint has resulted in carbon transparency no longer being just an option. It is a significant contributing factor to their ability to comply with environmental regulations, attract investment dollars, enhance their brand image, and create a sustainable long-term operational strategy. The primary focus of this program is to integrate the measurement of carbon footprint into the company’s performance management systems, using established international standards that align with the organisation’s strategic decision-making cycles.

The participants learn how to structure and implement enterprise-wide carbon accounting systems, and incorporate emissions volume and carbon footprint into the sustainability metric metrics, and executive report workflow. The program addresses both direct and indirect emissions, including the operational assets of the organisation, the supply chain, and the energy portfolio. In doing so, it enables organisations to shift from collecting fragmented data toward being able to provide standardised greenhouse gas reports to support their Environmental Social Governance disclosures, to provide Board level reports using standardised greenhouse gas reports, and to enable companies to provide their stakeholders with confidence through independent verification of their Climate Change Commitments.
