The Oil and Gas Drilling Technology Tools and Process Operations Training from Imperial Corporate Training Institute is a comprehensive training program designed to teach participants how to understand modern drilling techniques, workflows and best practices from the field in the oil and gas sectors. This programme teaches participants how to plan, implement, assess and improve drilling projects from surface construction through to well completion.

The training will provide participants with the means to understand: Drilling Systems – how all parts of drilling equipment operate in conjunction to generate efficient use of drilling resources; Drilling Fluids ‐ how they are circulated through the drill hole and the reservoir; Well Control methods of planning for uncontrollable events occurring during drilling operations (e.g. loss of pressure, leaks etc.); Formation Evaluation, determining the potential reservoirs that may exist beneath the surface of the ground and optimising drilling effectiveness. Combining theoretical technical fundamentals and the most effective operational practices, the programme will prepare professionals to work effectively within multi‐disciplinary drilling teams, meet the standards of International Safety Regulations and assist in delivering productive, low-cost drilling activities in instances where the geological situation is complex.

Objectives

Upon completing this oil and gas training course, participants will be able to:

  • Learn about the complete oil and gas drilling lifecycle starting with planning and ending with well completion
  • Identify suitable drilling methods based on formations and well objectives
  • Understand and apply the function and selection of essential drilling tools and equipment
  • Interpret drilling parameters and operational data for performance improvement
  • Understand the structure and responsibilities of the people who are involved in drilling rig operations
  • Utilize drilling safety principles and well control fundamentals
  • Evaluate drilling risks, and develop mitigation strategies for these drilling risks
  • Understand drilling fluid systems and their function in stabilizing a wellbore
  • Support efficient communication and coordination between drilling, geology, and production teams.
  • Improve operational decision making during drilling operations.
