The Advanced Building Information Modelling (BIM) Training Course provides deep immersive training for construction management professionals looking to increase their understanding of the digital technology and processes used in modern day construction. Participants will learn about Advanced Building Information Modelling (BIM) practices and how they can use their knowledge to effectively create, manage and collaborate with other professionals throughout all stages of the construction project. This training course has been developed by the Imperial Corporate Training Institute, an international provider of continuing education and training related to building information modelling.

The course will provide participants with an understanding of how advanced building information modelling (BIM) work flows support the collaboration and communication between architects, engineers, general contractors, project managers and all stakeholders involved in a construction project through a centralised shared digital environment. Participants will learn about how to use the techniques of model co-ordination, modelling with data and using models as a basis for making decisions, and have a strong emphasis on the application of these techniques in real life situations. Throughout the course, students will gain an understanding of how to manage digital construction models, validate and optimize them to provide better accuracy and to reduce potential conflicts between the different parties involved in the construction of complex projects while providing for an effective method for delivering those projects in a timelier manner.

Objectives

By completing the Advanced Building Information Modeling (BIM) Training Course, participants will be able to:

  • Employ advanced 3D modeling techniques to create accurate and information-rich building information models (BIM)
  • Establish and administer BIM work processes that conform to the International Standard for Construction.
  • Utilize BIM to enhance digital construction strategy throughout the life cycle of the project.
  • Coordinate models among multi-disciplined project teams effectively.
  • Detects conflicts, discrepancies, and data incompatibilities in coordinated BIM environments.
  • Combine architectural, structural, and mechanical/electrical/plumbing (MEP) Models into a cohesive BIM.
  • Utilize BIM for construction planning, scheduling, and coordination.
  • Promote the exchange of information by providing a digital platform for sharing project information.
  • Increase the quality, efficiency, and minimize risks in construction through the integration of coordinated BIM systems.
  • Oversee management of BIM deliverables on complex construction and infrastructure projects.

Target Audience

This construction management training course is suitable for professionals involved in planning, designing, managing, or delivering construction projects where BIM plays a critical role. The course is specifically designed for:

  • BIM Managers and BIM Coordinators
  • Construction Project Managers and Site Engineers
  • Architects and Architectural Technologists
  • Structural, Civil, and MEP Engineers
  • Quantity Surveyors and Cost Engineers
